Spirit of Kennesaw Mountain

My wife (fiancee' at the time) and I were walking Confederate positions on Little Kennesaw at the Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield.

We hadn't been up there long when we decided to leave. She wasn't feeling well, thunder clouds were building-up a short distance away, and it was a full half-mile back to the road and our car.

As we left, I happened to look over her shoulder (I was behind her) and I saw something move along the ground in front. I don't know quite how to describe it.. but it shimmered, distorted the air like pavement might on a hot day, except it was flowing right-to-left, roughly following the contours of the ground, instead of up-and-down.

It was a warm afternoon, but not all would I term hot, and we were still under the trees, so I find it difficult to believe it was heat. It wasn't even remotely like fog or smoke. I stopped, looked again, and pointed to it, but she didn't see anything.

The best description I can think of for it is that given by C. S. Lewis in his Space Trilogy of an Eldil: "It was there, but it wasn't."

Was it a ghost? Was it a hallucination? I make no claims. All I can do is tell what I saw; do with it what you will..

Ghost Soldier of Kennesaw Mountain

Several years ago my brother and I were hiking a part of the trail of Kennesaw Mountain, Ga.; it was very late, around 3am or so.

Up ahead in the trail we saw a man walking toward us and having encountered other people during our nightly hikes, we really thought nothing of it.

As the man neared we noticed he was dressed in mid 19th century attire. This did strike us as a bit weird and we intently kept our eyes on him.

As he came closer his face showed a blank, somewhat distant stare. He passed us, and after taking only a couple of steps we turned and looked back...he was gone. No trace of him.

Disquieting Encounter at Kennesaw Mountain

My husband and I, and our son and his friend visited Little Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park during our vacation.

While walking through the park, my son heard voices and then gunshots. Then all of a sudden, it started to get very cloudy and stormy. We all felt like we were being watched, and my son and his friend were both getting quite spooked.

It started to rain so we all went back to the car to wait for the rain to stop. The kids wanted to leave, but my husband and I were too interested at that point and wanted to stay just a bit longer. So we got out of the car and went back to the battlefield.

While we were looking around, we still felt uneasy. There was no doubt about it; we knew we were being watched.

Then we heard a loud noise that spooked us all. It sounded like a large tree branch falling to the ground. By this time it was getting dark, and after hearing that crash, we decided it best to leave.

We all had a strange feeling anyway that we shouldn't have been there, as if someone or something was telling us to leave, so we went back to the car, and as we were leaving, I decided to take a quick photograph of the battlefield. Then we left to go back to Florida to do a little more camping on our vacation before returning home.

Two days after visiting Kennesaw Battlefield, I became very ill. So we had no choice but to cut our vacation short and to head back home to the Florida Keys. A few days later, my husband took the film to have it developed, and to our surprise, we saw that about a dozen or more anomalies appeared on that final photograph at Kennesaw.

A short while later, after visiting your website and viewing all of your photo galleries, we are now totally convinced that what is appearing on our photo are definitely spirits in their soul-forms.
